Chadwick Boseman’s death left so many of us shocked and heartbroken. Black Panther fans wondered how Marvel would handle the sequel and many vowed not to watch it because Chadwick can’t be replaced. It’s unknown what the Black Panther sequel will cover, but we know there will be a Black Panther 2. Monday, Marvel announced Phase 4 in a three minute long promo trailer. The trailer included the release dates of Black Widow, Eternals, Shang-Chi and The Marvels. Marvel also dropped that Black Panther 2 will be released in July 2022 and will be called Wakanda Forever. It would seem that the movie will be focused on Wakanda as a whole. However, if Marvel decides to follow the comics, Shuri will take up the mantle of the Black Panther and become Aja-Adanna. Seeing the trailer with clips from Black Panther and the last two Avengers featuring Chadwick was painful. I understand that the show must go on, but it still hurts. I hope that Ryan Coogler is able to mine amazing plots from the Black Panther comic books so that Wakanda Forever can be just as amazing as its predecessor. All I know is, Chadwick’s “Wakanda Forever” will be etched on our hearts forever. And I think Marvel using that phrase for the second chapter of the Wakandans is genius.
I am also looking forward to the Loki series, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, The Eternals – ok I am looking forward to all of Phase 4. I know that COVID may have altered several storylines and filming schedules, but if Marvel continues with the amazing writing that we have seen in the last few films and Disney+ shows, I do believe the MCU for the next five years is gonna be epic.
The world may change and evolve, but the …read more
