Angels add two ranked prospects on first day of international signing period

The Angels signed at least eight players on the start of the international amateur signing period Saturday, according to multiple reports.

Venezuelan outfielder Nelson Rada, ranked as the No. 29 international prospect by MLB Pipeline, reportedly agreed to a $1.8 million signing bonus.

Dominican outfielder Randy de Jesus (No. 38) signed for a $1.2 million bonus.

The Angels also signed Venezuelan shortstop Luis Rodriguez, Dominican right-hander Nixon Encarnacion, Venezuelan catcher Dario Laverde and Venezuelan left-hander Manuel Cazorla, Cuban catcher Jonathan Linares ($90,000), Cuban left-hander Sadiel Baró ($125,000).

The Angels have a total bonus pool of $5.179 million for international signings in this period.
