Los Angeles public health officials reported 710 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,223,791 as of Thursday, April 8.
Officials said there were 52 new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 23,388 deaths since tracking began.
A total of 5,368,459 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Wednesday.
There were 20 more hospitalization reported since Wednesday, increasing the official count of hospitalizations to 572. That’s 93.8% fewer hospitalizations from the Jan. 5 high of 8,915.
Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
