
OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot Friday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.
Police were trying to identify the man.
The man was found shot about 6:33 a.m. on the 3300 block of Courtland Avenue, east of High Street and near Interstate 580. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators are trying to determine a motive for the killing. No arrests have been made.
The killing is the 70th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four homicides on city freeways. At this time last year, Oakland police had investigated 76 homicides in the city.
